A New Milestone for KICPAA
The ASEAN Federation of Accountants (AFA) warmly congratulates the Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors (KICPAA) on its admission as a full member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). This significant achievement marks an important milestone for KICPAA and represents continued progress in the development of the accounting profession in Cambodia.
KICPAA’s admission follows a successful application process, through which it advanced from IFAC Associate to full IFAC Member. The application, sponsored by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), was recommended for approval by the IFAC Board and formally presented to the IFAC Council at its meeting held on 12–13 November 2025. IFAC’s assessment confirmed that KICPAA meets the membership requirements, having been evaluated as Appropriate in terms of financial viability, governance structure, and internal operating systems.
With a membership base of 1,541 members, KICPAA has demonstrated meaningful progress toward fulfilling the Statements of Membership Obligations (SMOs), reflecting its commitment to quality, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
The formal recognition of KICPAA as a full IFAC member took place at IFAC Connect Asia Pacific on 4 December 2025, witnessed by nearly 500 accountants from across the Asia-Pacific region.
Strengthening the Regional Profession
KICPAAs advancement to full IFAC Membership reinforces its commitment to professional quality, integrity, and global recognition. This move will further strengthen the accounting profession within the ASEAN region, aligning it with international standards and best practices.
AFA looks forward to continuing to work closely with KICPAA as it proudly carries the badge of international recognition and contributes to shaping the future of the global profession.
